Teach the simple version first, then run the steps again until each player can say the job out loud.

P Pitcher

Sprint behind the plate and stay there until the play ends.

C Catcher

Communicate the target at home and finish the relay under control.

1B First Base

Hold first until the relay is clearly headed somewhere else.

2B Second Base

Trail the relay from underneath and keep second base protected if the throw is cut or dropped.

SS Shortstop

Be the cutoff through the middle and keep the relay lined directly to the plate.

3B Third Base

Own third early so the runner from second has to respect the bag.

LF Left Field

If the ball is yours, charge it cleanly. If not, slide behind the play as backup.

CF Center Field

Support the ball side and be ready to clean up any throw that gets away.

RF Right Field

Stay balanced off the ball side so the outfield stays covered if the relay is missed.
